Character Counts Week
Today we worked as a class to decorate our door for Character Counts Week. The theme is "Make your mark and see where it takes you." Since we are studying the moon, we made rockets to show that we have big, big goals! Read our space quotes and check out our rockets.

Double Dudes
They're back! Double Dudes are on the loose, helping us memorize our double facts and using them to solve other addition and subtraction facts.
If you know 6+6=12, then you also know 12-6=6 and 6+7=13.
Keep your eye out for Double Dudes and practice your doubles!

Odd or Even?
In math, we have been working hard on making a model and using math vocabulary to explain our thinking.
Today we were learning about odd and even numbers. We created models on the double 10's frames to see if a number could be divided into equal groups. Then we used an ap called Show Me to take a picture of our model and record an equation that helped us prove and explain whether the number was even or odd.
The math vocabulary words that we used were:
odd
even
equal groups
Can you use the vocabulary words and the picture below to explain why 17 is odd?
