Happy Thanksgiving!

This week we completed a beautiful project to show some of the things we are thankful for.  It turned out fantastic!

We started with a lesson on adjectives and then used the adjectives to describe some of the nouns we are thankful for.  Finally we wrote sentences with our ideas and put the pumpkin centerpiece together.  The kids were very excited and proud of their completed projects.  I hope they remember to put them on their Thanksgiving tables:)

American Education Week

This week was American Education Week and as we were working in math I couldn't help but be amazed at how education has changed over the years.

Take a look at some photos from math class this week.  We have all learned about money in school but have we all been able to make a Show Me presentation on an iPad to show different ways to make one hundred cents?

Our class is very lucky this year to have the use of iPads to enhance our math lessons.    It's very motivating and math is something we look forward to every day.  What school subjects were or are motivating to you? Why?

A Visit with Veterans

We were so lucky to have two veterans visit us today!  They read a book to us and told us about what their jobs were like.  They answered LOTS of questions. Thank you so much to our two new friends for all they have done for our country!
